Community Netball Coach

Netball WA is the governing body for the sport in Western Australia, incorporating the subsidiary entities of West Coast Fever Netball Club and Glass Jar Australia.

Reporting to the Community Participation Unit, the Community Netball Coach will be responsible for providing quality introductory netball programs for school aged students within Western Australia. These programs will emphasise skill development and active participation in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Primarily, the position will implement the Netball WA school-based programs such as ScoolNet and Woolworths NetSetGO to provide opportunities for every young person to participate and engage in the sport of netball. Community Coaches will also be given the opportunity to register as a coach for the national Sporting Schools program, which are also clinics facilitated by Netball WA.

The Community Netball Coach will be providing many children with their first netball experience in Primary Schools. Community Coaches that have more extensive experience or accreditation in coaching netball may also have the opportunity to deliver netball programs for High Schools students.

Netball WA is provided various opportunities to engage with the community via activations. Examples of these include West Coast Fever home games, community fairs, school & university open days, etc. Community activations are driven by the Participation unit with the support of Community Coaches.
